APY
The traditional Open Level American Power Yoga class. All poses can be modified or intensified, so YOU set the intensity. This makes APY great for the beginner and intense for the seasoned practitioner or athlete. All classes are 60 minutes and are held in a heated room of about 85 degrees, with a controlled humidity of about 65%. Don’t worry about the heat! It's safer and easier to stretch out your muscles when they are warm, but we also encourage you to take breaks on your mat. With the regulated temperature of the room you won't have to work up the body's heat all over again. You can get back into class still warm and safe. You will burn calories, build flexibility, gain strength, release tension, and cultivate focus, Oh, and you’ll have fun!
Requirements: There are no prerequisites, just come in and have a great time!
APY Flow
APY Flow is a more fluid presentation of our typical Open Level class. It will come at you with less basic instruction, offering you more time to focus and breathe. Transitions will flow a little faster, offering you the ability to dive deeper into the poses and into the moment. classes are for practitioners familiar with APY (or power yoga in general) who are looking for a challenge. As always, YOU set the intensity and happiness is accepting strengths and weaknesses equally.
Requirements: We recommend you have enough core strength for an unmodified plank pose and chaturanga (upper push-up and lower push-up).
Zumba (Rockwall location)
This routine features interval training sessions where fast and slow rhythms, and resistance training are combined to tone and sculpt your body while burning fat. Add some Latin flavor and international zest into the mix and you've got Zumba®! *Please wear tennis shoes or similar footwear for this class.
APY Slow Flow (Rockwall location)
A mix of a light, low-impact style of American Power Yoga and Tai Chi to promote strength and flexibilty. This class is perfect if you are recovering from an injury or surgery, limited in range of motion, new to working out, or needing to de-stress. Tai Chi has been practiced in the orient for thousands of years by mostly senior citizens. Martial artists have particularly benefited from the amount of meditative focus it promotes. So whether you are developing strength and need to take it slow or are an athlete and need to tone it down, "Slow Flow" will be a great addition to your routine!
